Click here to see an introduction to the philosophy, projects, and activities of Ne'emanei Torah Va'Avodah, by Yonatan Benarroch. Yonatan is the Chairman of Ne'emanei Torah Va'Avodah.

Ne’emanei Torah Va'Avodah is in favor of pluralism, women’s rights, the integration of tradition into modern life and the increased involvement of the religious community in the State of Israel. This is achieved through constant critical examination of religious identity in modern times. The work of the movement centers on the publication of its journal, “De’ot", and of the “Eit Lidrosh” Shabbat leaflet, conferences, Shabbat seminars, involvement in the media, participation in the public sphere, the movement website and the advancement of its views within the religious community.

The movement offices are situated in Tel-Aviv, adjacent to the offices of the religious kibbutz movement. Mr. Yonatan Benarroch serves as the volunteer chairman of the organization; he is a Ph.D. student at the Hebrew University. The additional staff consists of Shmuel Shattah, the Executive Director, and a number of executive board members working in a volunteer capacity. These executive board members are in charge of the various projects and volunteer groups that are made up of men, women, young people, rabbis and academics, all of whom assist the movement in its endeavors.

Today’s annual budget is $150,000; approximately 65% of which is raised every year. This funding comes from government aid, The New Israel Fund, the Popper Prins Fund and the Levi Lassen Fund. We hope to expand our activities and in order to do so, extra funding is required.
